After 30 months in new American white oak barrels, the spirit then spent four years in first fill Amontillado casks, some up to 50 years old from the famous Bodegas Tradición in Jerez, Spain. Amontillado has a unique style of its own that offers a fascinating expression.
Classic dried fruit, roasted hazelnuts, and vanilla spice on the nose. The honeyed palate has lovely peaches and cream, with butterscotch and orange peel, and a charming dusty leathery note.
The first Slyrs spirit was distilled in 1999, with their own distillery built in 2007.
