Oxford Rye Whisky, Purple Grain, The Oxford Artisan Distillery, England

This rye whisky was released to mark the distillery's 5th anniversary, a cask strength expression that follows its house mash bill of 70% heritage rye, 20% wheat, and 10% malted barley. It spent two years in American oak casks then in purple moscatel casks to mature for another year and two months, imparting plenty of nutty, dried fruit character to the rye spice.

2017 Harvest. 53.6% ABV.

Strong hazelnut and almond notes sit alongside dried summer fruits, fresh herbs and classic butter-pastry character.
