2018 Niersteiner Gutes Domtal, Schmitt Sohne, Rhine, Germany
This soft, fruity medium dry wine from the Rhine Valley is low in alcohol and as such, easy-drinking.
The family`s involvement in producing wine goes back some 200 years, when their ancestors came to the village of Lonquich on the banks of the Mosel River, in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer winegrowing region. Today the company is still in the town, producing a wide range of wines from the best grapes of the region.
Food recommendation - Ideal with chicken, light meats or just by itself.
"Honeysuckle fragrances are backed by hints of sweet fruit the palate is peachy with a tropical fruit mix. There is underlying freshness lighter quite fragrant a bowl full of nectarines and fresher grapefruit. All this makes for an easy drinking glass of white wine, a perfect start to the evening, a wine that suits lighter flavoured dishes." Derek Smedley MW (2017 vintage)
