2016 Gewurztraminer, Cuvee Particuliere, Domaine Jean Sipp, Alsace, France
A very expressive, floral nose with notes of rose petal, and slightly candied apricot. Rich and spicy on the palate, with great intensity of fruit, fine acidity and a lovely off-dry finish.
Perfect as an aperitif. Excellent with Munster. A fine partner to Ham hock and to veal.
Domaine Jean SIPP is located in the heart of Ribeauvillé, in the upper town, in a former stately home, dating from 1416. Jean-Guillaume Sipp is officially the head of the Domain since 2014. After his training at the Lycée Agricole in Rouffach, he followed courses with many winemakers including Domaines Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace, Olivier Leflaive in Burgundy, Marcel Guigal in Ampuis in the Rhône and the Domaine Mont-Redon in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
