ARUMA” means “night” in the language of the Quechua, the native Indian population of the Mendoza region. The name suggests the deep darkness of the nights in the Andes and the very pure mountain air: the wines have the same rich, authentic character as their terroir.

Produced with a blend of grapes from Agrelo and Altamira the wine is fermented with selected yeasts, matured in stainless steel and bottled completely unoaked. Juicy, fruit-driven and delicious.

A joint venture between the Catenas and Rothschild families Bodegas Caro was established in 1993 with the sole aim of producing the most elegant wines in Argentina. Both families have been vignerons since the 19th Century and these two wine dynasty’s have combined their deep knowledge of Mendoza’s high altitude vineyards and the art of winemaking to create a delightful wine. To add to the quality of this estate a safe pair of hands in the shape of Christian le Sommer (from the famous Chateau Latour) has been put in charge of the winemaking. This is South American wine in a revolutionary style!
