2018 Les Acacias Sauvignon Blanc, Domaine Guy Allion, Loire, France
On the nose the wine exalts pronounced aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers, characteristic of this grape, such as elderflower as well as notes of boxwoods. On the palate the wine is supple and well balanced with a certain raciness. Great length and nice balance on a fresher styled finish.
Current owner-winemaker Cédric is at least the fourth generation of Allions to farm this property, but it was only in 1968 that his father Guy converted the land from mixed use farming to vineyards. Cédric followed in his father's footsteps - in fact, going even further and studying viticulture and oenology at the Lycée de Beaune. Cédric assumed the running of the estate in 1990, where he produces really quintessential, well made reds, whites and Crémant from this medium sized domaine.
