2016 Xenysel Organic Monastrell, Bodegas Xenysel, Jumilla, Spain
Deep coloured with notes of raisin, blackberry and mocha. The palate has great depth of rich fruit and a smoky earthy quality. Full and ripe tannins frame the finish.
14.5% ABV. Particularly good with barbecued or grilled meats.
For several generations the family Martinez Verdú have cultivated vines here with traditional methods, regulating the production in the vineyards with gobelet pruning, hand picked grape harvesting and a total respect for the natural environment of the valley, due to the ecological practices they practice in the vineyards, and using new technological innovations while at the same time remaining faithful to their star, the variety Monastrell.
