2015 Chardonnay, Greywacke, Marlborough, New Zealand
"A harmonious blend of roasted hazelnuts and toasted grain accents pineapple fruit in Greywacke's 2015 Chardonnay. This looks to be the best vintage of Chardonnay Kevin Judd has made to date, showing great texture, class and length. It's medium to full-bodied yet shows great length and elegance to its citrusy fruit profile." Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate. Drink 2018-2023
Kevin Judd’s Chardonnay is an alluring combination of peaches and yellow grapefruit, with aromas of nougat, vanilla beans and marzipan. Savoury on the palate with great complexity, texture and concentration.
Greywacke was created in 2009 by Kevin Judd, the person responsible for the ground-breaking early wines produced in Marlborough. The name 'Greywacke' was adopted by Kevin for his first Marlborough vineyard, located in Rapaura, in recognition of the prevalence of rounded greywacke river stones in the vineyard's soils.
