2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Quebradas, Central Valley, Chile
Ripe nose of creme de cassis and mocha. The palate has generous black fruits, a hint of tobacco and a nice leafy character, leading to supple tannins.
Kupal was founded in 2007 by Gerardo Linares, whose aim was to produce wines with a sense of place, rather than wines overwhelmed by the making process. The winery own or manage 240 hectares, the majority in Colchagua, but also with significant holding in Curico and Leyda. The winemaker, Ignacio Milic, has worked all round the Mediterranean and was formerly with Errazuriz and makes a style much more elegant than most in Chile.
Food recommendation - Spicy sausages. Grilled lamb.
