2014 Tacora Syrah Reserva, Colchagua, Chile
Aromas of blackberries, black figs and other dark fruits with gentle hints of liquorice and sweet tobacco. Full bodied with a medium sweet, black fruit driven finish.
Aged in American oak barrels for 6 months.
Kupal was founded in 2007 by Gerardo Linares, whose aim was to produce wines with a sense of place, rather than wines overwhelmed by the making process. The winery own or manage 240 hectares, the majority in Colchagua, but also with significant holding in Curico and Leyda. The winemaker, Ignacio Milic, has worked all round the Mediterranean and was formerly with Errazuriz and makes a style much more elegant than most in Chile.
Food recommendation - Mild curries. Red meat.
