NV Comte Louis de Lauriston Cidre, Brut, Normandy, France
Our first forray into the world of Cider and this wonderful dry option comes from Normandy. So elegant, light and really refreshing. Normandy cider is made of different varieties of cider apples with more than 50 varieties used. This cidre is named after Count Louis de Lauriston, the founder and the first President of the Chais du Verger Normand, which was set up in 1962 to commercialize high-quality calvados, poirés, ciders and pommeau.
The nose is rich and has notes of fermented overripe red apples and apricot with a touch of wood and vanilla. It has lemon-like acidity on the palate, notes of wood, red overripe apples and seeds. There is delicate bitterness with a wonderful finish that is dry and with a pleasant lingering taste of red apples.
