2021 Merlot, Quebradas, Central Valley, Chile

A lovely Chilean Merlot that balances the lovely aromas of dark plums and black cherries with hints of coffee and toast. The finish is elegant and balanced with good acidity and delightfully soft tannins.

Kupal was founded in 2007 by Gerardo Linares, whose aim was to produce wines with a sense of place, rather than wines overwhelmed by the making process. The winery own or manage 240 hectares, the majority in Colchagua, but also with significant holding in Curico and Leyda. The winemaker, Ignacio Milic, has worked all round the Mediterranean and was formerly with Errazuriz and makes a style much more elegant than most in Chile.
