All of which will be demonstrated in this wine tasting event, with a fine selection of wines!!

CLASSIC WINE COUNTRY - £20/ Head

Savour the various delights of a single major wine producing country, looking at the contrasting styles and grape varieties grown. For this particular wine tasting event please choose from any of the following countries: France; Spain; Italy; South Africa; New Zealand; or a combination of Chile and Argentina.

COMPARING AND CONTRASTING - £20/ Head

A perennial favourite, and a wine tasting event that highlights just how different the same grape variety (or blend) can be, depending where in the world it is grown. A small selection of wines will be used to perfectly demonstrate this, and the tasting will finish with the option of 2 wines being served blind!

CONCEPT HIGHLIGHTS - £25/ Head

A random selection, chosen by Concept Fine Wines, of new discoveries and old favourites.

FOOD & WINE- A PERFECT MATCH - £30/ Head

With this wine tasting event a fine range of wines will be paired with various carefully chosen food matches or ingredients. This includes cheese and wine tasting, with a carefully selected choice of artisan cheeses, as well as some mixed charcuterie, and finally, for those with a sweeter tooth, a fruit tart or a chocolate brownie. Overall a tasting sensation!

SELECTED EUROPEAN HIGHLIGHTS - £30/ Head

A wine tasting event that concentrates on the classic regions of Europe and celebrates both the individuality and the quality on offer, with some wines being from areas that have undoubtedly led the wine world for several generations.

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF SCOTCH WHISKY - £40/Head A drink that is steeped in history, and one that offers such fascinating diversity. This whisky tasting will briefly look at the processes behind the final product and will look at the different styles that can be found within the various regions in Scotland. All by tasting a few whiskies from some legendary distilleries.

THE CONCEPT FINE WINES GRAND WINE TASTING EVENT - POA

A selection of fine wines hosted in a small exclusive private dining room venue. This can be a wine only option or can be turned into a full dinner option, with a perfect matching between fine wine and fine food, all encompassed in a memorable setting.

A TASTE OF CELEBRATION - £35/ Head

What makes Champagne so special? What are the other main alternatives for sparkling wines? This Champagne tasting will look at a few options as well as enjoying some of the very best non-vintage Champagnes available. A premium package is also available (at £75/ HEAD) if you would like to try some of the top ‘prestige cuvee’ Champagnes including Krug and Dom Perignon.

CHEESE AND WINE TASTING

Please note that any event, where neither cheese nor food is already included, can be adapted into a wine and cheese tasting with the inclusion of a 'cheeseboard' of fine individually crafted artisan cheeses for a small surcharge of £5 per person.

General Points

Please note that these wine tasting events have been designed to make it easy to choose an ‘off the peg’ wine tasting event at a set price, and have been created for a minimum of 6 people plus. However Concept Fine Wines appreciates that sometimes particular requirements make it preferable to have a more tailored event.
Whether it’s a different budget, a different theme, a larger corporate wine tasting event, or whether you would like a private tasting for less than 6 people, it’s all possible by simply getting in touch to discuss your particular requirements in full. The only wine tasting event that has a set venue provided is the ‘Grand Tasting’ option. The other options can be conducted at homes, offices or in private dining rooms in restaurants/hotels.
A quiz element can be introduced to any of the above tastings for those events where a degree of competition is required!

Due to popular demand for Concept Fine Wines to run more extensive and tutored events, the following course has been devised.

AN INTRODUCTION TO WINE - £47.50/ HEAD

In brief this course is divided into 3 parts:

INTRODUCTION: The first section will look at the following areas and questions:

How wine is made: a general overview.

How to taste wine, and what to look for. Including looking at colour, aromas, the palate, and tasting terminology.

Recognising key elements and factors that make good wine.

TASTING: The second part of the course will look at not only key grape varieties, but also one or two 'hidden' gems.

Overall 14 wines will be tasted.

The effect of oak, climate, and the aims of different winemakers, will be illustrated through these wines.

A small selection of fine cheeses will be included to help show how some wines can be enhanced with some classic cheese and wine pairings.

WINE IN GENERAL: The final part of the course will look at buying wine, storing and serving it, and matching with general food.

The essential course aim is to provide a good overall understanding of wine, from the making of it and tasting, through to buying and serving, and how to maximise the enjoyment of wine through the partnering with food.

As with the wine tasting events detailed above this course can be tailored further to suit by simply getting in touch. It can also be conducted at a home, office, or similar venue. Concept Fine Wines can recommend a number of different hotel/restaurant locations, or can arrange the hire of a suitable venue if required, for an additional charge. (Please note that this charge can vary and will depend on the specific venue chosen).

This wine course, for a minimum of 6 people, is designed to be more tutored and more in depth than the wine tasting events, yet still be fun and enjoyable. Lasting around 4.5 hrs this course is ideal for those who would like to gain a good introductory understanding of wine.
