Of all the Eastern European countries, Hungary has the longest tradition of wine production and the most
developed food and wine culture and laws. Fine wine has been made here for centuries and whilst the
interuption of communist rule dented quality and worldwide recognition, the last 20 years have seen a return of self confidence in producers, proper investment in vineyards and wineries, and some outstanding wines
being made. The Hilltop winery that producers both these wines was founded in 1991 by 4 Hungarians. Now
with an ultra modern facility the wines offer great fruit and precision and are staggeringly good value for money.

Crisp, clean and unoaked, with lots of great citrus fruit.
2008 PRIESTS HILL MERLOT/CABERNET, NESZMELY
A supple, fruit-driven wine, with red and black fruits complemented by a slightly spicy mid-palate.
